Mom’s rules dictate that you have to clear out the old to make room for the new. Well, lucky for you, Backstage Auctions is following mom’s advice.

The auction house’s annual Rock and Roll Memorabilia Clearance Auction, which closes Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, features more than 500 lots and promises savings as big as a rock star’s ego.

Beatles vintage poster

Why splurge on fresh flowers when you can enjoy roses and The Beatles all year long in this poster by Dezo Hoffman (16″ x 21″). The poster is offered along with a 1974 German “White Album” poster from Pop Magazin (21-3/4″ x 32″) and a rare Spanish store poster (19″ x 27″) as part of a lot of Beatles vintage magazine posters with a starting bid of just $10. “This is a great opportunity for collectors to pick up some really great pieces of memorabilia, especially with the majority of the lots featured in the auction have an average opening bid price of $20,” says Backstage Auctions Owner Jacques van Gool.

Joining the expected lineup of classic rock, pop, metal, alternative and prog rock lots is a selection of TV and Hollywood memorabilia that came straight from the Sixteen magazine archives. Items include artist-signed items; recordings; rare interview tapes with musicians; rare concert photos, slides and negatives; promotional and concert posters; promotional displays; vinyl records; promotional merchandise; and a variety of exclusive and one-of-a-kind ephemera. Featured artists include The Beatles, Alice Cooper, Jefferson Airplane, KISS, Led Zeppelin, Moody Blues, Van Halen and The Who.
