Floydian Slip radio show holds Pink Floyd cover contest

“Floydian Slip,” the syndicated radio program devoted to British rock band Pink Floyd, has announced its Second Annual “Surrogate Bands: Pink Floyd Cover Contest.”

Musicians are invited to submit their own recordings of Pink Floyd songs. Host Craig Bailey will feature the winning entry on a special episode of “Floydian Slip” and award the winner $100 in merchandise from the official web store of Pink Floyd.

The entry deadline for Floydian Slip's surrogate bands contest is June 28, 2012.

The winning entry will be broadcast on “Floydian Slip” #848 (starting July 5, 2012), an episode titled “Surrogate Bands,” which will consist entirely of other artists’ recordings of Pink Floyd songs. Second prize is a hardcover copy of Mark Blake’s “Comfortably Numb: The Inside Story of Pink Floyd” and a CD copy of “A Foot In The Door: The Best of Pink Floyd.” The first 50 people to enter the contest receive a free one-year subscription to Sound+Vision Magazine.

Contestants can enter by uploading their songs at www.floydianslip.com. Entry deadline is 11:59 p.m. Eastern time, June 28, 2012. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. Complete contest rules are online.

Bailey aired his first episode of “Floydian Slip” in 1989 on Ithaca College’s 106-VIC in Ithaca, N.Y. In its 20 years, the show has earned mentions in, or served as a resource for, media around the world.
