Royal Southern Brotherhood hits the road with ‘heartsoulblood’

Royal Southern Brotherhood is heading out on tour to support its sophomore album, “heartsoulblood.”

The guitar-driven, blues-rock band features Devon Allman, Cyril Neville, Mike Zito, Charlie Wooton and Yonrico Scott. Admittedly, more than a few of the band’s members bear familiar names. Allman is the son of Gregg Allman; Neville is the fourth — after Arthur, Charles and Aaron — of the storied Neville Brothers of the New Orleans music scene.

“When we went into the studio on the first record, we were a bunch of musicians making a record in the studio,” says Devon Allman. “On ‘heartsoulblood,’ we are a BAND.”

The album, which was released by Ruf Records, was produced by Jim Gaines, who helmed the band’s sessions for its eponymous debut album in 2012.
