Ted Nugent will attend the Aug. 1 dedication of a rock ‘n’ roll monument to his late mother, Marian “Ma” Nugent” in Palatine, Ill.
Nugent will arrive at 5 p.m. Aug. 1 at Durty Nellies Pub and Eatery in Palatine to attend the dedication of the 7,800-pound sand-blasted likeness of his mom.
Nugent will perform later that evening at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan, Ill.
Nugent, as she was affectionately known, was a Palatine resident for 28
years. “Ma Nugent’s Mail,” a “Dear Abby” of sorts, ran in the Illinois
Entertainer from 1980-1988. Marion

vocal supporter of Ted and his career, “Ma” attended Ted’s shows and frequented local concert halls and smaller venues to lend her
support to those she felt she could inspire to “be the best they could
The memorial effort was spearheaded by local musician and Palatine resident Eric Kinkel.
