Absolute Radio Web site features podcasts marking the 25th anniversary of Live Aid

By John Curley

The Web site of the UK radio station Absolute Radio is currently featuring several very interesting podcasts marking the 25th anniversary of the Live Aid concerts. (The 25th anniversary of the concerts was this past Tuesday, July 13th.) The podcasts can be heard and/or downloaded in the United States. The podcasts can be listened to or downloaded on the Web site and can also be added to iTunes.

The podcasts include interviews with Live Aid organizer Bob Geldof of The Boomtown Rats, Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen, Bono of U2, and Ultravox’s Midge Ure, among others. Geldof’s emotion-choked description of how a BBC-TV news report of the famine in Ethiopia enraged him and spurred him to organize the Live Aid concerts is absolutely riveting.
