Last Sunday, BBC 6 Music’s The First Time with . . . program featured Ringo Starr. The show’s host, Matt Everitt, interviewed Starr, and Starr was very forthcoming. Always a fantastic interview subject, Starr talked quite a bit about his youth, how he got interested in music, and the local music scene in Liverpool in the early 1960s. His time with The Beatles also was discussed at length, obviously. It’s a must listen for Beatles fans.
Fortunately, the program is available for on-demand listening via the BBC 6 Music Web site. To listen, go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0148smt and click the “Listen now” audio link. The program is 60 minutes in length.
