Bob Geldof is the latest artist to be profiled on BBC 6 Music’s excellent program The First Time, which is hosted by DJ Matt Everitt. Geldof, always an interesting interview subject, recounts his involvement in music throughout his life, from seeing The Beatles and the Rolling Stones live in Ireland with his older sister in the early 1960s to his time with The Boomtown Rats to his lead role in Live Aid. It’s a great listen.

To hear the program, go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00zp2kj and click the “Listen now” audio link at the top of the page. The program is 60 minutes in length. There are five days left from this writing (Tuesday, March 29th) to hear it before it is taken down from the BBC 6 Music Web site.
