A Paul Reed Smith Abraxas SE model guitar autographed by Carlos Santana and a prize pack featuring Santana CDs and prime concert tickets are among the items up for bid now as part of the Carlos Santana Milagro Foundation eBay Charity Auction.

All of the proceeds will benefit the Milagro Foundation, which was founded in 1998 by Santana and his family to assist underserved children worldwide in the areas of education, health and the arts.

In other Santana news, the guitarist has been in San Rafael, Calif., working on a covers album (due in September) that includes a rendition of The Doors’ “Riders on the Storm” with Ray Manzarek on organ.

CALIFORNIA 60s BLOGGER BIO:

Chris M. Junior grew up in Central Jersey, and his earliest music-related memory is as a 2-year-old standing in front of the TV to watch "The Johnny Cash Show."

Thanks to his parents' excellent record collection, Chris became a fan of doo-wop and early rock 'n' roll by age 10, and his tastes and knowledge continued to expand through his teen years and into adulthood. While living in California during the late 1980s, he developed a deeper understanding and appreciation for the various artists who lived and recorded in the Golden State. They included blues legend John Lee Hooker, whom Chris met in 1989 after learning he lived a few miles away from him in Northern California.

A music journalist for more than 20 years, Chris has written for various newspapers, magazines and Web sites, among them the Asbury Park Press and Goldmine. During his career, he has interviewed Dion DiMucci, Pat Metheny, Yoko Ono, Sam Moore, Al Green, Roger McGuinn and John Hiatt as well as members of Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bad Company, Cheap Trick, KISS, The Black Crowes, The Bangles, The Jordanaires and The Impressions.

In 2004, Chris launched the site www.medleyville.us, which features his music writing as well as his concert photography.
