Indie legends Built to Spill announce a bunch of tour dates

Can I just tell you how happy I am to see Doug Martsch and crew hitting the road this spring and summer. Built to Spill are one of the best (if not the best)  indie rock bands out there and seeing them live is something every indie rocker should have under their belt.  I try to catch them every time they hit the east coast and this summer will be no different.

Built to Spill started out in Boise, Idaho in 1992 and has released 7 full-length albums to date. Their last album There is No Enemy was released in October 2009, but was re-released in the UK and Europe on February 15th, 2010 when they signed on with ATP Recordings. This new record included the bonus track  “Water Sleepers” which was previously unreleased. That was until last month on Record Store Day when they dropped an exclusive 7″ with “Water Sleepers” on A -Side and “Linus and Lucy” on the B-Side. You can pick up a copy on ebay or some record collector shops to add to your collection.

MP3 Linus and Lucy

There has been no official news of a new album but I would guess with such a heavy tour schedule, and the band re-signing, we will be hearing news of one soon. Until then, enjoy a few of my favorites and get out there and see these guys live. You will not be disappointed!
