In a recent interview with BBC 6 Music, Kate Bush discussed her new album Director’s Cut as well as her famous reticence to perform live. (Bush, now 52, has not toured since 1979.) Bush also talked about plans to release new material.
Director’s Cut, which was released on May 16th in the UK and May 31st in America, presents reworked versions of songs from Bush’s albums Sensual World and Red Shoes.
On the subject of new material, Bush told BBC 6 Music’s Mark Radcliffe:
“I’m working on a new record.
“It’s all kinds of bits and pieces, really. There’s always ideas buzzing around, but it’s whether they actually end up materializing into a song.
“It’s quite an elusive process.”
On the subject of possible live shows, Bush stated:
“I haven’t got any plans to do any live shows whatsoever. I’m very much engrossed in trying to making new material.
“I’m extremely flattered that people are interested.”
