By John Curley

Paul Weller will release his 11th solo album, Sonik Kicks, on March 26, 2012 in the UK and the following day in the United States. This album follows The Modfather’s previous effort, 2010’s Wake Up The Nation, which was nominated for the Mercury Prize. Noel Gallagher and Blur’s Graham Coxon are among those who will appear on the album.

Weller will perform Sonik Kicks in its entirety on March 18th and 19th at The Roundhouse in London. Regarding those performances, Weller’s official Web site stated: “Weller doesn’t want to wait 20 years to perform a ‘classic’ album, he’d rather do it here and now—no need for nostalgia to play its part.”

The full tracklist of Sonik Kicks is as follows:

Green
The Attic
Kling I Klang
Sleep of the Serene
By the Waters
That Dangerous Age
Study in Blue
Dragonfly
When Your Garden’s Overgrown
Around The Lake
Twilight
Drifters
Paperchase
Be Happy Children

Weller performed two of the new songs—“That Dangerous Age” and “Paperchase”—in his live shows last year.

One of the album’s tracks, “Around The Lake,” has just been released and is available for purchase from iTunes in the UK. The video for the song, which features a sequence from the short film 24hrs, Pavey Park, can be viewed on YouTube.
