Ringo Starr is interviewed on BBC Radio 2’s Weekend Wogan

by John Curley—Ringo Starr, who is promoting his latest album, which is titled Y Not, was interviewed this past Sunday, April 11th, by BBC Radio 2 DJ Terry Wogan on the Weekend Wogan program. To watch a video of the interview, click above.

Starr was very forthcoming in the interview and discussed quite a few topics, including: how his life is not nearly as hectic today as it used to be; his preference for vinyl albums over CDs; The Beatles’ music still being relevant today; how he started on drums when he was hospitalized at age 13; his son Zak Starkey’s work as a drummer with The Who and Oasis; the reasons why he has stopped signing autographs; how Paul McCartney came to work on his new album; and Y Not being the first album that he has produced by himself.

Terry Wogan was the longtime host of BBC Radio 2’s highly rated morning show and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth in October 2005. He began the Weekend Wogan program earlier this year.
