The Vaccines’ terrific debut single is set for UK release on Monday

By John Curley

“Wreckin’ Bar (Ra Ra Ra),” the furious and very brief (under 90 seconds) debut single from the hotly tipped British band The Vaccines, is slated for UK release tomorrow (Monday, November 22nd). The song has received a considerable amount of airplay on UK music radio. To watch The Vaccines perform the song live on a recent edition of BBC-TV’s Later with Jools Holland, click below:

I asked the DJ John Kennedy of XFM London about The Vaccines, and he told me that things are moving very fast for them at the moment, that they’ve had TV and radio appearances in the UK without releasing anything and that this has happened despite the fact that they’ve only played about half a dozen live gigs.

“Wreckin’ Bar (Ra Ra Ra)” is a very auspicious debut indeed for The Vaccines. I think that they will be one of the big new UK bands in 2011.

The Vaccines performed two other songs—“If You Wanna” and “Blow It Up”—on that edition of Later with Jools Holland. To watch those performances, click in the appropriate places below:

Excellent stuff. I certainly look forward to hearing more from The Vaccines.
