The Sounds From Across the Pond blog is by John Curley. John is a dyed-in-the-wool Anglophile. He’s loved everything British since he became interested in The Beatles and Monty Python at about age 12.

His first concert, at New York’s Shea Stadium in October 1982, featured two of the UK’s finest bands—The Clash and The Who. Having seen many UK bands in concert since then, he became further immersed in British music and culture when he made he first visit to the British Isles in 2000. Bowled over by the new music scene in Britain (featuring many bands not yet getting airplay in America), he began to follow it closely and started to listen to the UK music radio stations on the Web.

In July 2007, he began writing about music for the Powerline A.D. music Web site and blog. And now, he is writing the Sounds From Across The Pond blog for Goldminemag.com in addition to writing reviews for the site. In the blog, he will write about the best that British music has to offer.
