This store has everything I wanted: posters, new and used LPs, CDs, 45s, cassettes, used magazines, books, shirts, vintage comic books and pop culture memorabilia.
I had the opportunity to meet the owner Gram Davis. The man knows his stuff and is happy to share some stories. The store got its name from not only The Clash song but North African shops that sell their items in the casbah. When Gram started out, he sold at markets. He even had a mobile record store for awhile and has been at this physical store for 10 years. When I told Gram about one of the records I was looking for, he went in the back and brought out a box for me to look through. Love when they bring out the back stock.
Very clean store but definitely set up in a friendly, “old school” style. Easy to see everything in the store. Everything was sorted and clearly identified. Great music playing in the background, too.
They stock every type of music. They carry both new and used copies of records. The store stocks many collectible LPs and several bins of discount records. Plus you need to love a store that discounts when you buy in quantity
I visited six different stores in my trip to London. This store was by far the best! You are a fool if you get to London and don’t visit this store. They fully participate in Record Store Day with many releases and have live music in the store. I only wish they had a Twitter account so I could follow them.
