Gregg Allman will be along for the ride when The Allman Brothers Band will return to the concert road with select shows in November 2010.
Allman, along with Butch Trucks (drums and tympani), Derek Trucks (slide and lead guitar), Warren Haynes (vocals, lead guitar and slide guitar), Oteil Burbridge (bass), Marc Quinones (congas and percussion) and Jaimoe (drums), will embark upon an East Coast intimate theatre tour of “Evening With” shows, including three nights at Boston’s Orpheum Theatre on Nov. 18, 19 and 20, 2010.
The group was forced to cancel a June 26 appearnce at Eric Clapton’s “Crossroads” festival as a liver became available for Allman. While he’s had plenty of time to spend with family and friends after his surgery, Allman said he is excited to get back on the road.
“I’m ready,” Allman said. “I’ve been itching to play since I got the operation and am glad to be back. Can’t thank everyone enough for their help and support.”
Tickets go on sale Aug. 12, 2010, at LiveNation.com, Ticketmaster outlets and the Orpheum Theatre box office. For more about the band, visit www.allmanbrothersband.com.
