Arcade Fire to perform at Grammys for first time

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Current Grammy nominees Arcade Fire, Eminem, Cee Lo Green, Lady Gaga, Miranda Lambert, and Katy Perry are the first performers announced for the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards telecast. Arcade Fire and Miranda Lambert will perform on the Grammy telecast for the first time, while Eminem, Cee Lo Green, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry are returning to the Grammy stage. The music industry’s premier event will take place live on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast in high definition and 5.1 surround sound on the CBS Television Network from 8 – 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT)

Arcade Fire and Lambert each have three nominations: Arcade Fire for Album Of The Year and Best Alternative Music Album for “The Suburbs,” and Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals for “Ready To Start”; and Lambert for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for “The House That Built Me,” Best Country Collaboration With Vocals for “Bad Angel” (with Dierks Bentley and Jamey Johnson), and Best Country Album for “Revolution.”

Arcade Fire’s album “The Suburbs” had each of the 16 tracks mastered to a 12 inch lacquer and then transferred back to digital format so that the CD and digital version of the record sound just like the vinyl. Above is photo of the actual record (courtesy of Arcade Fire’s Web site).
