Lilith Fair to run another two years, Sarah McLachlan smiles

By Carol Anne Szel

“Yes, I can confirm that there will be two more years of Lilith Fair,” Sarah McLachlan told me Saturday afternoon at PNC Bank Arts Center when the tour pulled in there to play to at this nearly sold-out show.

“Lilith is in my soul on so many levels,” the founder of this musical caravan of female singers stressed to me as we spoke.

Still enjoying it after an 11-year break from bringing this celebration of women in music out on the road, Sara smiles. “I’m going to have ‘fun’ tatooed here,” she laughs pointing to the inside of her wrist.

Last month, Lilith organizers were saddened to announce that Carly Simon had to withdraw from three Lilith Fair dates (Boston, July 30; New York City, July 31; and Hartford, Aug 1) for medical reasons.  Simon suffered an injury by seriously fracturing and breaking her foot, which prevented her from performing at these shows.
