Richard Buckner is touring to support a triple-play of his album reissues.
Merge is digitally reissuing the out-of-print albums Bloomed, The Hill and Impasse on March 10, 2009. All three albums are available as digital downloads in the Merge digital store.
Bloomed was recorded in Lubbock, Texas, with Lloyd Maines. The Hill, released in 2000, is based on characters in Edgar Lee Masters’ Spoon River Anthology. Originally recorded during a break in recording Devotion & Doubt, Buckner put the cassette tape in his glove compartment only to come across it four years later. 2002’s Impasse followed the heartbreak of Devotion & Doubt and the weary optimism of Since.
A selection of Buckner’s upcoming tour dates, cities and venues are:
March 19, 2009: Arlington, Va., IOTA Club and Cafe
March 20: New York, Mercury Lounge
April 16: San Francisco, The Independent (seated)
April 17: Santa Cruz, Calif., The Crepe Place
April 19: Los Angeles, McCabes Guitar Shop
April 25: Seattle Tractor Tavern (early)
