WAR rages on

Lonnie Jordan of WAR

Universal Music Enterprises has acquired the rights to the WAR catalog, and starting this month, several of the band’s albums will be available for digital download for the first time, among them “Coleccion Latina” (1997), “The Music Band” (1979) and “The Music Band 2” (1979).

“WAR is a multicultural melting pot that has had an enduring influence on music,” Bruce Resnikoff, UMe president and CEO, said in a news release issued May 5. “This is a group that truly brought together people of all races and backgrounds. From the time its songs were first released to its popularity with rap and hip-hop audiences decades later, WAR has remained a fan favorite and a culturally relevant band.”

WAR is working on a new album, and the band has U.S. concerts currently scheduled into September.

  1. Looks like everyone makes money off the ORIGINAL artists of WAR, EXCEPT for the ORIGINAL artists of WAR! Wish people would open their eyes, ears, and minds to the TRUTH about how THE CREATORS of WAR music, got scammed out of THEIR WAR name, copyrights, and recognition by a lowdown thief of a producer!
