Two legendary adult-oriented radio vocalists unite on this self-titled project featuring former Toto singer Bobby Kimball (best known for “Toto IV”) and Survivor survivor Jimi Jamison (best known for “Vital Signs”). Friends who have worked together with other artists, the two talked about making a “duets” record for years.

Kimball Jamison self-titled albumTheir long wait ensured that Kimball and Jamison had access to first-class songwriters: The brutally honest ballad “Sail Away” and the bouncy “We Gotta Believe” were written by Richard Page (Mr. Mister) and “Mutt” Lange (Def Leppard), while Jamison’s former Survivor bandmate, Jim Peterik, penned “Chasing Euphoria,” the album’s most over-the-top song. Eric Martensson (W.E.T.) contributed a pair of catchy ’80s-style rockers with “Get Back in the Game” and the Bon Jovi-like “Kicking and Screaming.” John Waite wrote the ballad “Shadows of Love.”

Jamison’s voice sounds the same as always; Kimball struggles with his lower register but still sounds close to the voice of “Rosanna” on the higher notes.
