Goldmine Magazine’s Hall of Fame’s latest inductions include two unique sounds from the late ’50s, two Brit favorites & another Country star
We don’t have a museum or awards ceremony, but Goldmine does have a desire to honor deserving musicians and an alternative to the Rock Hall.
Elvis Presley was inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame at the very first ceremony in 1986. But his spirit hangs over this year’s ceremony as well, with the induction of his former bassist, the late Bill Black, and his former drummer, DJ Fontana, in the “Sidemen” category.
Despite the historic meeting, no lasting bond ever formed between the two acts. Ironically, as The Beatles’ career was coming to an end in 1969, Elvis’ was being reborn.
