The nominations for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum for 2010 were announced today. The 12 nominees are: ABBA, Darlene Love, Donna Summer, Genesis, Jimmy Cliff, KISS, Laura Nyro, LL Cool J, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Chantels, The Hollies, and The Stooges. Ballots will be sent to more than 500 voters, who will select five of the 12 nominees to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the 25th Annual Induction Ceremony March 15, 2010, at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.
They say “where there’s smoke there’s fire” and on Sept. 25 there was plenty of that, along with enough explosions and fireworks to set off the Fourth of July! You see, this was the opener of the “Kiss Alive 35” North American 40-plus city tour, and the classic quartet returned to the place where it all started for them back in 1975.
Ace is back, and when you get hit with the attack of his strident new record Anomaly, you’ll realize that his couple of decades away from his solo career in earnest did not constitute time wasted. Sure, Ace has been wasted more times than Def Leppard has deferred to song doctors, but now clean and sober, he’s found himself making strong stadium-rock statements sure to trade punches with those on the Kiss album arriving in October.
