Auction to feature large banner from 1996 KISS reunion tour

The 48-foot-long banner features larger-than-life photos of original band members Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss in all their spandex and stage-makeup glory.

A 1996 KISS reunion tour banner believed to be the only one of its kind will be heading to the auction block next month.

David Barber Auctions will offer the banner — which features photos of original members Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss in all their spandex and stage makeup glory — via eBay. The auction will be hosted under the seller name "swampraisin" and will run Feb. 13 to Feb. 23, 2014, according to a news release.

"This banner was crafted out of professional grade vinyl. It is the only one known to exist from this reunion tour, or for that matter, any tour," the descriptor reads on the landing page dedicated to the lot at the website.

More information about the lot, as well as multiple photos, is available by visiting

KISS 1996 reunion tour banner

Here's the collectible for the KISS Army soldier with a lot of room: A rare 1996 reunion tour banner. The vinyl banner, which was photographed atop a roof — hence the wrinkles and ridges in its appearance — measures 14 tall by 48 feet long. No measurements were provided for the length of Gene Simmons' tongue in the banner, but a mathlete could probably figure it out. The banner will be offered via eBay auction Feb. 13-23, 2014, via the seller name "swampraisin." Photo courtesy David Barber Auctions.

The KISS banner, which is listed in excellent condition, measures 14 feet tall by 48 feet long and has been stored in its original shipping container since it was taken down, according to the auction house. Also included in the lot: all of the paperwork related to the large photo banner, plus a 4-foot-tall by 48-foot-long banner that reads "Nov. 2 KISS MGM Grand."

KISS is among the artists and innovators scheduled to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame this spring, along with Cat Stevens, Daryl Hall and John Oates, Nirvana, Linda Ronstadt, Peter Gabriel, Andrew Loog Oldham, Brian Epstein and The E Street Band.
