The third date in Yes' 2013 tour — during which the band will perform three of its classic albums in their entirety — will be broadcast live from San Francisco on March 5 on AXS TV.
Bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Steve Howe, drummer Alan White, keyboardist Geoff Downes and singer Jon Davison will perform 1971’s "The Yes Album," 1972’s "Close to the Edge" and 1977's "Going for The One" in their entirety at this concert and on additional North American tour dates between March 1 and April 12, which are listed below.
YES will only perform two albums — "The Yes Album" and "Close To The Edge" — for five shows due to the time constraints at those venues; they are detailed below.
Yes also has launched a contest to give away audiophile CD copies of "Close To the Edge;" visit http://bit.ly/13iVlbn, follow @AXSTV on Twitter and post a tweet using #AXSYES to be entered to win. @AXSTV will also communicate with viewers during the broadcast using on-screen messages to encourage social interaction and entries to the contest.
The band selected these albums as they each represent a milestone in Yes' career, and while each album has its own flavor, the albums complement each other, bassist Chris Squire explained.
Founded in 1968 by Squire and Jon Anderson, Grammy-award winning recording artists Yes have created iconic pieces including “Roundabout,” “Close to the Edge,” “I’ve Seen All Good People” and “Owner of a Lonely Heart.” The band has sold tens of millions of records over its four-decade career, and it continues to create masterful music that inspires fans and musicians worldwide.
