Among the many special releases for Record Store Day 2013 are a pair of live albums available on both CD and vinyl: "Dragons Live at Independent Records" and "Mumford And Sons Live At Bull Moose." Mumford and Sons offered this statement as to why the band wanted to take part in the live recording effort.

"There are 364 days of the year that lie either side of one, very important day. Depending on which way you see it, most of the year is either in eager anticipation or celebration in the aftermath of Record Store Day. We, Mumford & Sons, are first and foremost music fans, appreciators and collectors of music. One of the great things about Record Store Day is it celebrates not only the music but the hard working retailers and outlets who passionately champion new and old music, from finding that rare bootleg Charles Mingus vinyl to introducing us to some of the most brand new music before the radio stations and magazines have. We seek out these stores on tour, wherever we are in the World, and think it's brilliant that there's a day to celebrate their existence. Happy Record Store Day!"

A host of stores are planning special guests and performances on Record Store Day. Here's a sampling of those activities. Click here for the full Record Store Day list.
