Like every other hippie during the Summer of Love, the Flower Pot Men wanted to be in Haight-Ashbury, so they wrote a song about it. Riding the coattails of Scott McKenzie's "San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Some Flowers in Your Hair)," the harmony-pop outfit had a radiant minor hit with "Let's Go to San Francisco" in September of '67, just about the time everyone was starting to get sick of all the media coverage.
