Carlos Santana is recovering after collapsing during his show at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan, on Tuesday July 5th.
Medical personal had to assist the 74-year-old guitarist and escort him off the stage. Fan-posted photos and video captured the scene:
The guitarist was taken to the emergency department at McLaren Clarkston, the musician’s manager Michael Vrionis confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
Later that evening, via a Facebook post, Santana gave an encouraging update on his health, writing “thank you for your precious prayers. Cindy [Santana’s wife] and I we are good just taking it easy. forgot to eat and drink water. so i dehydrated and passed out. blessings and miracles to you all.”
Vrionis added that “The show for tomorrow July 6th at The Pavilion at Star Lake (formerly the S&T Bank Music Park) in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, will be postponed to a later date.”
Santana is on the road for his Miraculous Supernatural 2022 Tour: Santana + Earth, Wind & Fire, in support of his 26th and latest album, 2021’s Blessings and Miracles.
