In late 2020 former Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth unveiled his online interactive comic, The Roth Project, which featured five new solo songs: "Giddy-Up!," "Somewhere Over the Rainbow Bar and Grill," "Lo-Rez Sunset," “Alligator Pants" and "Manda Bala."

The largely acoustic numbers had been recorded roughly a decade earlier, with the help of John 5 on guitar and bass, Gregg Bissonette on drums, Brett Tuggle on keyboards and percussionist Luis Conte.

Now, Roth has shared another new song, “Pointing at the Moon," accompanied by a video featuring his own artwork. This singer hasn’t revealed any additional information about when, or with whom, “Pointing at the Moon” was recorded, but the piano-driven, acoustic-based cut definitely has the same feel as The Roth Project singles.
