Beach Boys, Doors are among VH1’s ‘Greatest’

The Beach Boys (No. 15) are the highest-ranking 1960s act with strong California ties to make VH1’s latest list of the “100 Greatest Artists of All Time,” which also is a four-night special that begins Sept. 6.

The list, which was determined by a poll of music artists and industry experts, also includes Neil Young (No. 26), Sly and the Family Stone (No. 38), The Doors (No. 65) and Janis Joplin (No. 72).
