On Dec. 9, one day after what would have been his 67th birthday, late Doors singer Jim Morrison was pardoned in a unanimous vote cast by Florida’s state board of clemency.

Morrison, who was born in Florida and attended college there before moving to California, was convicted in 1970 of indecent exposure during a March 1969 Doors concert in Miami.

Whether Morrison actually exposed himself in ’69 has been debated for decades. No photos or videos exist of Morrison committing the act, something outgoing Florida Gov. Charlie Crist cited in his effort to have Morrison pardoned.
