Ailing Adele calls off concerts

Laryngitis forces singer to reconfigure North American tour

Adele has postponed a handful of North American concerts due to laryngitis, Columbia Records announced May 31.

The Grammy-winning singer was diagnosed May 26 in Minneapolis, where she was to perform that night. She performed May 28 in Denver, but she had not fully recovered by then.

She called off her May 29 show in Utah at the last minute, and since then she has postponed concerts in Vancouver (May 31), Seattle (June 1) and Portland, Ore. (June 3). Her tour will resume June 4 in Berkeley, Calif.

Adele’s postponed May 26 show in Minneapolis has been rescheduled for June 22.
