Frontiers to release limited-edition, 2-LP version of Journey's 'Eclipse'

This special gatefold double-vinyl edition of the band's 2011 studio album will have a limited run.

Frontiers Records will release a special gatefold double-vinyl edition of Journey's "Eclipse" studio album on Jan. 22, 2013.

The run is limited to 1,000 copies, according to Frontiers. The retail price is listed at $22.98.

"Eclipse," which was produced by longtime Journey collaborator Kevin Shirley, initially was released in the U.S. and Canada on May 24, 2011, exclusively at Wal-Mart. It was the 14th studio album for the band and the second to feature lead singer Arnel Pineda.

Journey just wrapped an extensive five-month North American tour. The band is gearing up for its first-ever tour of Australia, followed by a return to Southeast Asia and Europe.
