Goldmine teams up with URP for record store distribution deal

Goldmine magazine and URP launch a distribution partnership that kicks off with Record Store Day.

Goldmine announces a nation-wide magazine distribution partnership with a leading music distributor, URP Music Distributors, a division of United Record Pressing, Inc., that launches with Record Store Day on April 22.

Through the partnership, URP will distribute copies of Goldmine to hundreds of independently owned and operated record stores. For F+W, the customized newsstand relationship dramatically expands Goldmine’s footprint domestically; for URP Music Distributors, the partnership deepens relationships with their record store customers. As a longtime supporter of Record Store Day, Goldmine announced the partnership with URP through promotional materials sent to participating Record Store Day stores as part of a “starter kit.” An advertising sales relationship and subscription promotion is also part of the agreement.

“We’ve always loved Goldmine," URP Music Distributors executive Spyder Frisch says, "and as a leader in both vinyl record pressing and music distribution, we’re delighted to be partnering with them and helping further promote such a great cause as Record Store Day.”

The announcement of the partnership with URP Music Distributors continues a recent string of Goldmine activity that includes adding guitarist Jay Jay French to the magazine staff to contribute a monthly column about The Beatles.
