Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour will release Live In Gdan’sk in September 2008 on Columbia Records. Recorded during the last concert of Gilmour’s 2006 summer tour, the concert was the only one in which Gilmour performed tour material with an orchestra, using the 40-strong string section of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Zbigniew Preisner, who was responsible for the On An Island album’s orchestral arrangements... John Mellencamp’s new album, Life, Death, Love and Freedom, produced by T Bone Burnett, will be released July 15, 2008, by Hear Music. It is the first album to be released in the CODE format developed by Burnett and his engineers, which creates high-definition audio files that its makers say are virtually indistinguishable from original master tapes. Teaming up for their first tour together, Kid Rock and Lynyrd Skynyrd will embark on the “Rock and Rebels” journey across the U.S. and Canada starting in Oklahoma City on Aug. 8. Melissa Manchester debuted “Power of Ribbons” at the Revlon Run/Walk for Women May 10 in Los Angeles. Manchester was inspired to write the song after watching her friend, Nancy Colton, battle breast cancer, raise a family and raise money for breast cancer research.
