New collections mark Roy Orbison’s 75th birthday
Classic songs from his Monument catalog to be presented in their original mono mixes
Legacy Recordings is honoring what would have been Roy Orbison’s 75th birthday on April 23 by releasing a pair of hits collections this spring by the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer.
The two-CD “Roy Orbison: The Monument Singles Collection” (due April 5) will contain all of the singer’s A and B sides — in their mono mixes — that he recorded for the Monument label from 1960-64. It also comes with a DVD of Orbison performing nine songs, among them “Oh, Pretty Woman,” from “The Monument Concert 1965.”
“Roy Orbison: The Monument A-Sides” will be available as a single CD.
