Dolly Parton's tour in support of her latest album, Backwoods Barbie, now will kick off April 22 in Pittsburgh.
Parton had to postpone the first dates of her tour; tickets will be honored for the new dates.
"Hey, thanks for being patient," Parton said in a news release. "I'm mending very nicely and will be fit as a fiddle soon. And I'll not only have the fiddle, but the rest of the band, as well. We can’t wait to hit the road for our Backwoods Barbie tour. We’re anxious for you to see our new show and play you some of the new songs. Look forward to seeing you soon!”
Parton had been instructed by doctors to rest her back for six to eight weeks. She is expected to fully recuperate in time for the April 22 kickoff. Her upcoming European tour, which kicks off June 13 in Sweden, was not affected.
