Get Jam Band and Woodstock-related vinyl and collectibles at the Goldmine shop

Maybe it was the hallowed ground of Woodstock, but the Dead & Company Summer Tour 22 became more vibrant at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts on July 1, 2022.

Vendors were set up and down "Shakedown Street" to sell all sorts of Dead-related merchandise and other goodies. There were even guitarists placed in different spots of the vendor’s area for ongoing jams. Fans of all ages shopped and listened to music for several hours before Dead & Company hit the stage. With hot weather came a short rain shower before showtime but neither heat not rain could damper the spirits of the Dead faithful.

The current Dead & Company lineup consists of original Grateful Dead members guitarist Bob Weir, drums and percussionists Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann, along with guitarist John Mayer, bassist Oteil Burbridge and keyboardist Jeff Chimenti. This lineup has jammed-packed this venue before, however, this time it was without  Kreutzmann. The fill-in drummer would be Weir collaborator Jay Lane. Lane has filled in for the Rhythm Devils previously, so many Dead fans have already experienced his skilled performances.

Dead & Company’s impressive two sets were filled with Grateful Dead hits and other well-picked covers, while trippy lights and images flashed behind the band. Fans were rockin' (dancing and partying) more than usual, all over the Bethel Woods performance area until the end of the show.

Below are photos and a photo gallery to show off that aforementioned vibrancy of the overall event. All photos by Frank White.
